A Wednesday Night Children’s Program

Wednesdays 5:30-7:00 Sept.-May

Kids Connect is Back!

Connect is our Wednesday night children’s program. Our Connect program exists to provide a place where kids can learn about Jesus in a fun, safe environment.

We begin with a meal that the whole family can participate in at 5:30 pm. After dinner, from 6:00-7:00, the CONNECT Kids will enjoy singing, Bible stories, arts and crafts, and games.

Parents/guardians are welcome to stay with their kids the whole time.

Who’s it for? Connect is for any and all kids from age 3 to 5th grade. No need to sign up in advance, simply bring your child/children!

When is it? Connect meets from September to May on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:00 preceded by a free meal at 5:30. See our calendar for more information about Connect meetings and events.

Where is it? Connect typically takes place in the children’s area downstairs.

What is it all about? During our Connect meetings, kids learn about Jesus and the Bible during a lesson and participate in a variety of games and activities.

Safety Policy

Immanuel has a comprehensive children and youth safety policy, below are some of the basic rules.

  • The Two-Adult Rule: At least two Children/Youth Volunteers must be present at every function and in each room or other enclosed building area during all Organized Children and Youth Activities. NOTE: This rule must always be preferred to the Rule of Three.

  • The Rule of Three: At least three individuals (at least one must be an approved Children/Youth Volunteer and the remaining two no younger than twelve years of age) must be present at every function and in each room or other enclosed building area during all Organized Children/Youth Activities.

  • The Rule of Permissive Windows: If it is necessary for a Children/Youth Volunteer to meet with a Child/Youth during an Organized Children/Youth Activity in a private setting to discuss personal or private matters as initiated by the Youth, the Children/Youth Volunteer must first receive permission by the Children’s Ministry Director or Youth Director and the meeting must take place in a room with a window where another Youth Worker can and will monitor the room at all times or in an outdoor setting that allows for private communication, but also where another Children/Youth Volunteer can and will monitor the room at all times.

  • All staff and volunteers must pass an interview, background check, reference check, and undergo abuse awareness training.
