Children & Worship

Children & Worship

Church for Children

Children & Worship (C&W) is a worship experience for Age 3-3rd graders

Children are invited to join their parents in the sanctuary and will be dismissed to C&W during the service.

Our C&W room is located upstairs, across from the Sanctuary.

Children will sing songs, learn about a Bible story, have a snack, and choose an activity to do until their parents/guardian picks them up following the service.

Children will be checked-in in the main lobby and will be given a name tag before the service. Parents will be given a security label that has a unique code that corresponds with the code on the child’s name tag.

Safety Policy

Immanuel has a comprehensive children and youth safety policy, below are some of the basic rules.

  • The Two-Adult Rule: At least two Children/Youth Volunteers must be present at every function and in each room or other enclosed building area during all Organized Children and Youth Activities. NOTE: This rule must always be preferred to the Rule of Three.

  • The Rule of Three: At least three individuals (at least one must be an approved Children/Youth Volunteer and the remaining two no younger than twelve years of age) must be present at every function and in each room or other enclosed building area during all Organized Children/Youth Activities.

  • The Rule of Permissive Windows: If it is necessary for a Children/Youth Volunteer to meet with a Child/Youth during an Organized Children/Youth Activity in a private setting to discuss personal or private matters as initiated by the Youth, the Children/Youth Volunteer must first receive permission by the Children’s Ministry Director or Youth Director and the meeting must take place in a room with a window where another Youth Worker can and will monitor the room at all times or in an outdoor setting that allows for private communication, but also where another Children/Youth Volunteer can and will monitor the room at all times.

  • All staff and volunteers must pass an interview, background check, reference check, and undergo abuse awareness training.
