The Christian life is not about a list of do’s and don’ts, but is about God working in our hearts, by His Spirit, to bring us to faith in Jesus Christ. As we continue to live out our faith, God continues to work in our hearts by His Spirit to produce Christlikeness, or the fruit of the Spirit in our lives.
Today as we look at Galatians 5: 22-26, we will focus on putting to death the desires of our flesh and pursuing the fruit of the Spirit’s work in our hearts.

September Mission of the Month: The City Rescue Mission of Lansing. Feeding the hungry, sheltering the lost, protecting the weak. Their mission is to meet the physical needs for food and shelter and to bring those with spiritual needs the Hope that is found in Jesus Christ.
New Elder and Deacons: Congratulations to Janet V who was installed as Elder last Sunday, and to Jessi F and Fred H who were installed as Deacons. Please keep them in prayer as they begin their new positions. We would also like to thank Rick H and Carrie B who have recently rotated off from their positions as Elder and Deacon for their faithful service to this church.
Rachel M is Expecting “A Little Scoop of Fun” November 1st: Please join us for a baby shower to celebrate Baby Girl on September 11th from 3pm-5pm in the Family Life Center. Soft served Ice cream and snacks will be provided. (Rachel is registered on babylist.com) One last request, we hope it’s not too hard, please bring a book instead of a card.
Kid’s CONNECT Kickoff: Every Wednesday from 5:30-7:30 pm., beginning next Wednesday, September 14. Join us for a free family meal served at 5:30 pm. Afterwards, kids ages 3yrs old- 5th grade will join together to learn about Jesus in a fun and safe environment. They will enjoy singing, stories, arts and crafts, games and more!

Local Needs:
Immanuel Community Resource Closet partners with Lansing Christian Services to provide personal hygiene items and household cleaning supplies to families in need. This ongoing ministry is currently in need of, bleach, paper towel, toilet paper, and Kleenex. Please place donations in the baskets underneath the mailboxes outside of the sanctuary. Families in need, please call Christian Services at (517) 394-5411 for a referral.
