Commissioning of the Pastoral Search Team:  After the message today, we will be commissioning the members of our Pastoral Search Team:

Chair: Michelle C, Mike J, Emily W, Joey S, Jennifer B, Wayne K, Bruce T, and Liaison: Tom Grabill.

Please be praying for this team as they begin their search.  Pray for unity, spiritual strength, wisdom, and endurance.

Proposed Budget for the 2020/2021 Fiscal Year:  Please take a moment to look over the proposed budget and become familiar with it, we will be voting on it at our Congregational Meeting Sunday, May 31.

Gathering Timely and Important Information:  On Thursday, May 21, 2 surveys were sent out to the congregation either by email or regular mail asking for your valuable feedback regarding:

1) Reopening Safely

2) What are We Looking for in a New Pastor.

The first survey will guide leadership in the planning of when and how we will begin to transition back to meeting together in this season of Covid-19.

The second survey helps the consistory develop a job description for the next Pastor, and the Search Team understand important characteristics and strengths to watch for as they interview potential candidates.

You have two formats by which you can take the survey.  You can either fill it out online by simply clicking on the links above and follow the instructions, or you can print the attachments, fill out with pencil or pen, and mail them back to the church office.

Anyone in your household who wishes to complete the surveys may do so. If all members share the same sentiments only one survey for all needs to be filled out or each individual can complete their own. So that we can do our work in a timely fashion we ask that you complete the surveys and return them by next Thursday, May 28.

Attention Kids: Sunday, June 7 a new exciting Children’s Ministry will begin. A video “Glow in the Dark” will be shown just for you during our live streaming of church. After the video Pastor Tom will tell you how you can get lots of fun activities that go along with this video lesson. Be sure to watch church with your parents on June 7 to find out more. You won’t want to miss this new adventure!

It is a Difficult Season We are All Going Through:  Because of this, we find it even more important to remember the teachers of Cumberland Elementary school. To show our appreciation, we have given the teachers and staff a small gift to let them know that we support them and the hard work they have done this school year. Please keep them in your prayers.

Transition Sunday:  On Sunday, June 7, we would like to recognize all of our children and young adults that will be either graduating, or transitioning into another phase of their lives. This includes:  College graduates, high school Graduates, transition from middle school to high school, elementary school to middle school, and Children and Worship graduates.  We are currently compiling a list of  youth that we would like to recognize, but just to be sure that we don’t miss anybody, please email Joey South if you have a student that fits into any of these categories.

The Following Names Have Been Approved by Consistory:  after prayerful consideration of the nominations submitted for the offices of Elder and Deacon:

For Elder - Mike Johnson, Sue F and Joe C

For Deacon - Fred H, Eric C and Sandy C

On Sunday, May 31, we will draw names to see which two elders and which two deacons will replace those whose term is ending. Please be in prayer over this process and for these candidates as they are considered for office.
