The Exodus story is both the story of God redeeming His people from slavery in Egypt, and the beginning of a 40 year journey as the Israelite people leave Egypt to wander in the wilderness.
But the wilderness in this story is not what we think of when we think of wilderness. For the Israelites, the wilderness is a vast dry desert where very little grows, and resources are scarce. Yet, the paradox of the story is that this is the place that God calls them to for their growth and transformation as He forms them as His people and leads them toward the Promised Land.
In this series, “The Wilderness Paradox”, we are setting out on a journey with the Israelite people to see that it is through calling us out of the comfortable and the familiar, that God forms us for His plan and His purpose.

Because of Your Love
March Calling Team: Please call Janet V or Sandy C with any special concerns or requests.
March Mission of the Month: The Siloam Nepali Church is a church plant that began right here at Immanuel in 2016, led by Pastor Chandra Tamang. Church planting is a term referring to the process that results in a new local Christian congregation being established in order to effectively reach more people with the life-changing hope of the gospel. It must eventually have a separate life of its own and be able to function without its parent body. Please pray for the Siloam Nepali Church’s ministry to keep growing and we thank you in advance for your help in supporting this mission.
Family Game Night: Please look forward to joining us for another Family Game Night here at Immanuel, in the choir room, this Saturday, March 11, at 6:30 pm. Bring your favorite games, your favorite snacks, and come have some fun!
Mobile Food Bank: We will be hosting another Mobile Food Bank here in our parking lot on Saturday, March 25, from 9-11 am. If you would like to help sort and put food into cars, please sign up by visiting our website at www.icrclansing.org, and then click on the “Bulletin Board” tab in the upper right hand corner.

This group will be a place that we can encourage community by posting information about studies and events for women, prayer requests, resources, or other useful information for one another.
New Elder & Deacon Nominations: The Consistory will begin working on a slate of nominees for 2 new Deacons and 2 new Elders in preparation for the next Congregational Meeting which will take place in June.
