“Greetings from all of us at Immanuel”

As we begin our study in the Gospel of Mark this morning, we do so with the focus that in discovering more about Jesus, we will come to learn more about the life that He calls us to live in Him. Today, in Mark 1:1-15, we see who Jesus is and the life changing response this good news calls us to.

 ANNOUNCEMENTS

February Calling Team:  Please call Harold S or Eric C with any special concerns or requests.

February Mission of the Month – Words of Hope shares the gospel in nearly 60 languages from Africa to The Middle East, and South Asia. They seek to empower, equip, and encourage indigenous Christians to share the good news in the heart languages of people with the least access to the gospel. So, Words of Hope is not just a devotional ministry nor just a missions agency.  Now, more than ever, our world needs the living hope that only the resurrection of Jesus brings.

New Sermon Series Begins Today: The Gospel of Mark opens with a very clear announcement of who Jesus is and why He has come, but as the narrative continues to unfold, and people begin listen to His teachings and witness His miracles, they begin to wonder, “Who is this man?” Over the next 8 weeks we will journey through the Gospel of Mark, following Jesus with intrigue and curiosity, seeking to know more of who He is and why He came, and as we learn more about who Jesus is and why He came, we will discover more of the life that He calls us to live in Him.

CONNECT Dinners: We are looking for a person, or a group of people who might be interested in leading the Wednesday night CONNECT dinners beginning in March.  If this is something that you are interested in doing, or maybe even your small group, please let Stacia know in the office or Pastor Matt.

Part of Our God Dreams Vision is to be a Praying Church:  When we gather together and combine our prayers as one body of Christ the results are powerful.  Please consider joining the Prayer team as we pray for our world, community, and for each other on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month, here at Immanuel in the choir room, at 6:30 pm.

Your Leaders are so thankful for your fervent prayers:

Staff: Pastor Matt L, Joey S, Ashlee W, Emily W, Stacia W

Consistory: Carrie B, Sandy C, Eric C, Sue F, Rick H, Mike J, Harold S., Liz S, and our ministry teams

Prayers for RCA Missionaries- Keith & Denise Krebs, Middle East

Please pray for Chaplain and missionary Keith Krebs and Denise Krebs as they serve the American Mission Hospital by listening to patients and staff, caring for them in stressful times, and by providing spiritual encouragement. Please also pray that they will have a wide reach in this role that brings them into conversations with many people from different nations, religions, and cultures.

If you have a personal prayer request, please contact Marcia J. You may also submit a prayer request on our website at www.icrclansing.org, or you may place a written request in the prayer box that is located just outside of the sanctuary next to the church mailboxes.
