The theologian A.W. Tozer once said, "What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." As thought provoking as this quote is, perhaps it is also a bit challenging to think about because maybe when you think about God, you don't have such good things come to mind. Perhaps you feel like God is distant and impersonal.
Maybe you wonder if God punishes you sometimes? Or maybe you look at the world today and wonder if God really is in control, or powerful enough after all?
As you ponder this quote from A.W. Tozer, what comes to mind when you think about God?
In this 3 part series we will be looking at some misconceptions that we commonly have of God, and how these misconceptions can hold us back from knowing and enjoying who God truly is.

A Message From the Prayer Team: The Prayer Team will resume meeting in the choir room on January 12, 2023, at 6:00 pm, and continue to assemble on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at the same time. We invite ALL to join us, with the words of Jesus in Matthew 18:20, “For where two or three come together in My name, there I am with them.”
The Greeter Schedule for January-March 2023 Has Been Posted in the Family Life Center: This is an important part of Immanuel's ministry and a great way to meet-and-greet your church family/guests. We need 2 greeters/week so sign up as a couple or we can find you a partner. Contact Sheryl P with questions.
2023 Flower Calendar: A new flower calendar has been posted on the bulletin board in the Family Life Center. If you would like to sign up to bring flowers in honor of or in memory of somebody special, or to celebrate a special occasion, please write your name down next to the desired date and plan on bringing flowers for the worship service that morning.

To support the ongoing ministry of Immanuel, please place your offering in one of the offering plates at the front of the sanctuary. You may also submit an offering online at www.icrclansing.org.
Local Needs:
Immanuel partners with Lansing Christian Services to provide personal hygiene items and household cleaning supplies to families in need. This ongoing ministry is currently in need of, toilet paper, dish soap, laundry soap, bleach, and All-Purpose cleaners. Please place donations in the baskets underneath the mailboxes outside of the sanctuary. Families in need please call (517) 394-5411.

We begin with a meal that the whole family can participate in at 5:30 pm.
CONNECT Kids
Children Ages 3 yrs.-5th Grade
6:00-7:30pm.
Kids join together to learn about Jesus in a fun and safe environment. They enjoy singing, Bible, stories, arts and crafts, games, and more.
