Search Team Update

The pastoral search team continues to meet weekly! In partnership with the consistory, the search team reviewed and summarized the Congregational Pastoral Survey results. As promised, here are the results for your review and continued support:
The Search Team would like to thank the Congregation for the significant response to the survey.
· We had 56 participants representing a wide range of years attending Immanuel Community Reformed Church (ICRC), most who consider themselves highly committed to the church and its ministries.
· Fittingly, the qualities desired of a new pastor were identified as those of Christ, that is Prophet, Priest and King. Specifically, these included:
1) Preaching
2) Leading Discipleship Ministries
3) Leading Staff and Volunteers
· Many spoke of the God Dreams/Church Unique process outcome and its mission, vision and values in the open-ended question.
· The results suggest that you believe that we need a leader that will:
1) Preach relevant sermons that reveal the church’s participation in God’s redemptive work in this world.
2) Establish discipleship ministries that equip and empower the congregation to live on mission.
3) Share the work of leadership efficiently and with effectiveness by developing, leading and inspiring staff and volunteer leaders with one heart and one mind for reaching as many people, in every way, within a 5-mile radius with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
· Finally, the survey indicated that finding the right person to lead our congregation is less dependent on experience and more dependent on finding someone with the following gifts:
1) Preaching
2) Visionary
3) Leading
· In conclusion, in discovering who God has already prepared to become our next pastor, we will be looking for an honest, trustworthy, thoughtful and pastoral individual who will lead us into the vision that God has called Immanuel to be.
